Valentine Stuff

I dont' have it all posted here, but for Valentines we did the 14 days of Valentines for dad! Here are a few of the little things we made for him.

Paint swatches with notes from me and the kids.

Photobucket

This one was the kids' idea. (well not the saying on the tag) but we were learning about basket weaving and did the hearts. Then they decided to put them together to make a basket. It's filled with Swedish Fishies.

Photobucket Photobucket

I always snatch Daddy's change he takes out of his pockets when he comes home from work so I decided to give some of it back!

Photobucket

I found heart post it notes at the store so filled them up with things I love about him! This was fun and great for even me to read daily!

Photobucket

These were NOT for daddy, but super cute! Not as easy to make as I had thought...but still the kids loved them. Candy bracelets mixed with just tied ribbons.

Photobucket Photobucket

LOTS of others!

A preschool game, but would be great for anything! It was a bugs and insects day but these were made out of shapes including hearts so could be included in a variety of lessons! They are just pictures made with shapes of scrapbook paper, then I cut them in half and it's a memory game! I didn't laminate them, but it's in my plans because my kids loved it!

Photobucket

These were the valentines we made this year. I didn't take any pictures of the final product with the sucker in their hands...sorry! Here's BEFORE the suckers were inserted!

Actually this first one of Savs was given with swedish fishies.

I featured the bow in another 'bow' post but I made this scarf to match it. I didn't have Savs around when I made it so it ended up a little too long, but still was cute for the sake of pictures!

Photobucket

Even though these were a preschool thing...they turned out too cute. I saw the idea of putting them in the baby food jars from another blog. These jars really were too narrow, but it's what I had. I saw the initial idea on brown paper packages, but I believe it was actually a guest blogger.

Photobucket

Jaydens 'wings' are actually made from an umbrella! We gutted the umbrella (which was harder than I thought it would be) and then sewed and taped up ends to make it work. Initially I left some of the guts in so it would be more stiff...but they ended up tearing through the fabric so then I just took them out.

Then Kyson's ghost. Definitely not the cutest thing ever...but for fabric less than $1.00 and what only took about 20 minutes to make...I was fine with it. And he didn't complain so that was the best!

Photobucket Photobucket

A few birthday things!

Jayden's elephant jungle party invitations. Then his goodie bags.

Then Maliyah's Strawberry Shortcake goodie bags. Both of these parties I did really simple at this time (being pregnant...sick...and planning parties and trips doesn't really flow well together).

I love for my kids to have new Jammies for christmas and the past couple years have enjoyed making them. Here is this years group!

Photobucket

I actually found 2 fabrics for each gender I liked so they all got 2 new pj pants! I never did get pictures of the other ones.

POtty Training Entertainment

I found this chipboard magnets at the Dollar Store and made this board for Jayden while he was being potty trained. Then I got more magnets to give as potty prizes. Nothing fancy as I was just using metal and wood that I already had cut out, but they kids got a kick out of it!

Farm Birthday

I am soooo guilty! I keep posting all these recipe things! But I just made a Pig cake and cupcakes for my 2 yr olds birthday and they turned out pretty cute. You can see kinda how I made it here.

Then here are the invitations

6" squares cut into barn shapes, added the invite part printed from the computer, then triangles cut from the red onto the door. Pretty simple huh?

Farm Mural

Postal Paper from the Dollar Store, spray paint and White wrapping paper.

Animal Walk Game

This was so fun and simple to make. Animals from the cricut then clear contact paper to protect them.

Savannah's 3 month pictures

I think somewhere I have a picture of this whole top, but it was something new I wanted to try, basically a skirt with straps. As she grows I can take the shoulder straps off and then she can wear it as a skirt! LOVED it on her and even more LOVED the corkers I made! I don't do them very often, but I sure love them!

Photobucket Photobucket

and here is the bow I made initially for the top....although I changed it because I didn't think I would be using it for pictures!

Photobucket

and although I may have posted it before, here again is a picture of her wearing the shirt. It's still hard to see the cute fabric along the bottom, but you can kinda see it!

Now, this isn't not at all by any means a good picture, but I made some tops for the girls and one is now being used for display for our Super Saturday crafts. I just didn't get good pictures before. You can look at all our crafts here. Not good pictures at all as I just took them at the church while they were on display, but hopefully after super saturday I will have more that I made that I can take pictures of!

Crazy for Clothing

I have been a slacker at posting my recent sewing projects on this blog, so I'm going to quickly add them here!

First attempt at a Halter. Turned out way cute, looks even cuter on! It was a gift so I don't have a picture of her wearing it, but just saw her in it today and I can confirm...still cute!

Photobucket

Fabric used above and below I got from my Grandma and she gave me tonz! After using it for two different project Maliyah Begged me to make her something Strawberry! So we saw a picture of a skirt...liked it and tried to imitate it. I have to say it turned out pretty cute! I can't wait to try another twirly skirt!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I had an idea in mind what I wanted when starting this top, but had no idea HOW I was going to do it! With that being said it took WAY longer to make than I would ever care to spend on an item of clothing, but golly it sure looks cute on!

And yes I made matching clippies

Photobucket

This dress was my first pillow case dress. WAY super cute, turned out so easy, fit was nearly perfect....I'm learning more about securing my seams for less fraying. This fabric frayed like mad and I had to fix a seam. Bummer! But it will be fun when baby is big enough to wear the matching one with sister!

Photobucket

And of course we had to make the matching bows!

Photobucket

Now, I'm going to have to add a link later for these pants because I totally found the idea on line and loved it...but they are t-shirt pajama pants! They take about 20 minutes to make and are from an old T-shirt. It was so fun to let the kids pick one of Daddy's old T-shirts, draw the pattern themselves, and even push the pedal on the sewing Machine! Maliyah even strung the elastic through them all. And honestly....1 hour and about 10 minutes to make all three and that was with their help! They were pretty proud of themselves.

Photobucket

Renee Packer Photography again...I'm guilty

I am not posting a crafty or home made item right now. My mom is a photographer and a great one at that, so I just had to put in a plug for her! So, with that said, I guess photography is home made and the the subject in the following pictures are DEFINITELY home made. Enjoy viewing them and check out her website!

Polka Dot Pajama Pants!

I've really had a craz for sewing lately which isn't so NOT always me, but we have had fun with it. This week we had a birthday party and decided it would be fun for the kids to help make this little girl some pajama pants. The greatest part was when we were done and I was taking pictures, Kyson insisted on modeling his pair, and then was sad to realize that his were going to be given away! To calm him down I had to reassure him that we could make him some more and even had to pull out some cool far fabric to convince him that the cars would be much better! He was finally satisfied and let us give Emily her pants!

Not a craft!

So, I confess, this isn't a craft....but the bow is! So I guess I can count this picture. I love to do hair...style...and I'm soooo glad I have a daughter so I can play around with it! This was just a new style I tried on Easter...I did the twists all around her head with the pile of curls in the middle. It really was fun!

Photobucket

Aprons

For my son's 4th birthday we had a cooking party and I made little aprons for each kid. I was nervous at first, but really they were much easier to make than I thought! Then I used the leftover fabric to make their little goodie buckets to take stuff home in. They looked so cute!
